“Sustainability is key to building a better future for everyone, and we're committed to leading the way. At 4C, we believe that our purpose goes far beyond just making a profit. It's about making a positive impact on society and the planet we all call home.”

- Hans-Martin Schneider, Senior Partner & Founder 4C GROUP

Why ESG is Important to Us

ESG is of utmost importance to us as it aligns with our core values and vision. We recognize that businesses have a significant role to play in addressing global challenges and creating a better future. By focusing on ESG, we demonstrate our commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.

ESG and Sustainable Impact

ESG encompasses sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint. Sustainability involves balancing economic growth with social and environmental considerations. It entails managing resources responsibly, mitigating environmental risks, and promoting social well-being. By integrating ESG principles, we strive to minimize our environmental impact, support social progress, and contribute to a more sustainable world. The success of our business model is evaluated based on economic performance, local market presence, and the sustainability of our operations.
The main ESG focus areas are:

  1. Environmental Responsibility: Environmental responsibility encompasses the responsible management of resources throughout operations. It involves assessing and mitigating environmental impacts, including emissions.
  2. Social Responsibility: Social responsibility entails prioritizing employee training, promoting favorable working conditions and striving to improve living conditions. Additionally, it involves considering the impact of products and services on society, while addressing broader social responsibilities, especially in diverse locations. Embracing social responsibility is crucial for fostering inclusive and sustainable communities and contributing to the overall well-being of society.
  3. Governance Responsibility: Governance responsibility is a fundamental aspect of ESG practices. It involves upholding transparent and ethical business practices, complying with applicable laws and regulations, and safeguarding the interests of stakeholders. Robust governance structures and processes are established to foster accountability, integrity, and responsible decision-making across organizations. By prioritizing effective governance, businesses aim to build trust, cultivate long-term relationships with stakeholders, and foster a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the industry.

Our Road to Zero

As part of our ESG commitment, we have embarked on a transformative journey called "Road to Zero." We have set ambitious goals to reduce our carbon emissions, waste generation, and water consumption. Through energy-efficient practices, responsible waste management, and sustainable procurement, we aim to move towards carbon neutrality and zero waste, exemplifying our dedication to sustainable operations.

Our Implemented Measures

At 4C GROUP, we are actively involved in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions through various projects. For instance, we have successfully optimized IT infrastructure and enabled mobile work capabilities, resulting in significant reductions in energy consumption and CO2 emissions. In addition, we use resource-saving rail transport throughout the company and largely avoid meat consumption at our events. We are proud to announce that we have achieved CO2 neutrality for our company, following the implementation of measures and the acquisition of certificates for the fiscal years 20/21 and 21/22.

4C FOOTSTEPS Foundation

We see our responsibility towards society and people. That is why we established our foundation, the 4C FOOTSTEPS, back in 2011 with the aim of identifying promising projects in early childhood education in socially disadvantaged areas and supporting them sustainably both financially and with the personal commitment of 4C employees.

4C Code of Conduct

The 4C Code of Conduct and its compliance is directed at all those who contribute to the success of the 4C GROUP - from our employees, suppliers and service providers to all our business partners.

With the 4C Code of Conduct, we create a clear and reliable guideline for our actions and our cooperation - this shapes our thinking and actions and our performance promise to our customers, against which we naturally want to be measured.

United Nations Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is the world's largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance. The German Global Compact Network (DGCN) with participants from business, civil society and politics supports companies in strategically anchoring sustainability on the basis of 10 universal principles and contributing to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The 4C GROUP has supported the United Nations Global Compact since 2014 through its membership and is committed to continuing to incorporate the basic principles as maxims for action in its operational activities.
